Welcome to McCormick
Message from the Mayor
We’re excited about the opportunity to visit with you through the INTERNET. The Town of McCormick is a great Town and our goal is to provide our citizens with the best service a Town can offer and our visitors with the best vacation area.
Those of you who would like to visit our green community, buffered by 63,000 acres of natural forest, three state parks, and the 70,000 acres Lake Thurmond, we invite you to do so.
McCormick is a unique place that offers the quiet traditional quality of life with nature’s amenities at your side. Whether your idea of outdoor adventure is an open window drive, touring historical sites, or a family trip, kayaking down the scenic Little River, central to these activities is Baker Creek State Park, which offers 100 camp sites, all on the Little River Blueway. If you like sports, you can play golf and stay at Hickory Knob Lodge and Restaurant.
At the heart of these green amenities is the Town of McCormick with quaint shops, restaurants and historic sites. The McCormick Arts Council at the Keturah (MACK) is also located in Town.
The MACK is home to dozens of artists that utilize the facility to refine their talent and conduct classes on paintings, pottery making and photography.
